The lentils of the Umbrian Apennines have been cultivated for millennia on the Umbrian-Marche karst planes, at a height of about 1,500 meters; the quantity produced on average per year is limited and this makes it a unique product.

Thanks to the rather harsh climatic conditions in which it is born, lentil is the only legume that does not need to be treated for storage because it is not attacked by the weevil.

The lentil has considerable nutritional qualities: all its proteins, vitamins, fiber and minerals make it excellent for those who need a diet rich in iron, potassium and phosphorus, low in fat and very nutritious.
